ACT 1 — THE PERFORMER
I started on stage. I trained at Carnegie Hall, performed on daytime television — All My Children, Another World — and landed my breakout role replacing Jerry O’Connell on the sci-fi series Sliders. Film and TV work followed: Godzilla, Dark Angel, Rebound. I was a working actor in Hollywood, and I loved it.But it was behind the bar where I found my true stage. Every lesson from Carnegie Hall — timing, presence, storytelling, reading a room — became the foundation of everything that followed.
ACT 2 — THE BARTENDER
I spent eight years running the bar at the Chateau Marmont — Hollywood’s most legendary hotel. On any given night, I’d build 300 to 400 different cocktails, never making the same one twice. The celebrity clientele taught me discretion. The volume taught me craft under pressure. The culture taught me that every guest has a story, and the bartender’s job is to make that story a little better.
From there, I joined the opening team of the SLS Hotel to create the beverage program for The Bazaar by José Andrés. That earned a James Beard Nomination and put me on the map as someone who could build programs at the highest level.
I went on to lead the Library Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, then became National Director of Mixology at 41 Ocean, Santa Monica’s members-only club. It was at 41 Ocean that Cocktail Theatre was born — described by Haute Living as “The History Channel meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” with tickets selling out months in advance. My philosophy crystallized during these years. There’s a great study that says people laugh and smile about 17 times a day, but in a great bar, they do it 17 times an hour. I call it the Rule of 17. Every program I build, every bartender I train, every cocktail I create is designed to deliver on that promise.
ACT 3 — THE BRAND BUILDER
For the past decade, I’ve been a fixture on Bar Rescue on Paramount, which has made me a household name in the hospitality industry. As Global Mixologist Ambassador for Princess Cruises, I oversee $250 million in annual cocktail sales across 15+ ships and 102 countries. I’ve trained over 8,000 bar professionals using my trademarked teaching methodology.
In 2021, I was appointed Chief Mixology Officer at Starco Brands, where I partnered with Cardi B to launch Whipshots — a vodka-infused whipped cream that sold 8 million units with 1.2 billion impressions and achieved national distribution in 18 months.Through Princess Cruises’ Love Line Premium Liquors Collection, I create cocktail programs for celebrity-backed spirits from Matthew McConaughey (Pantalones Organic Tequila), Jason Momoa (MEILI Vodka), Liev Schreiber (Sláinte Irish Whiskey), Kylie Minogue, Jon Bon Jovi, and others. My company, Rob Floyd Entertainment, also partners with LIVE! Casinos, Carnival, VAI Resorts, Pepsi, and Adobe.
ACT 4 — NOW
On February 17, 2026, I broke the Guinness World Record for Most Margaritas Sold in 8 Hours — 3,410 handcrafted 24K Margaritas aboard the Regal Princess in Cozumel, using a cocktail I created with Pantalones Organic Tequila. The fleet has sold over one million of them in just over a year.
In October 2025, I published Sip at Sea: A Princess Cruises Cocktail Collection — an interactive cocktail book available on Amazon and aboard all 17 Princess ships, with recipes, photos, and QR-linked video tutorials.
My travel docuseries, Drink with Rob, completed Season 1 (12 episodes) and is currently filming Season 2 in Los Angeles, with Season 3 greenlit. Produced by P.Z. Production.
